The winners of The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Awards were announced on Monday 6 November and presented by Andrew Kay (Latest) and Allison Ferns (BBC Sussex), with new categories introduced this year: Best Afternoon Tea, Best Cheap Eats, Best Venue Design and Best Breakfast, recognising the breadth of the hospitality and food offering in Brighton & Hove. This year’s awards were hosted at My Brighton hotel on Jubilee Street, with drinks sponsored by Albourne Estate, Blackdown Artisan Spirits, The Beer Collective, Eden Cider, Ridgeview Wine Estate, South Downs Water and Wobblegate Juices.

The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Awards are the longest running awards in the city, celebrating the very best of hospitality, food and drink. Public nominations open via the festival website from April to August each year. The top three public nominations in each category are then sent on to the judging panel who score each finalist through a combination of visiting venues, secret shopping and interviews as applicable. Only businesses with a food hygiene rating of four or more can go through to the finals. The third step of the process is the food festival directors corroborating the judges results to ensure accuracy and impartiality based on the strict judging criteria.

The awards are made possible through the support of generous sponsors and patrons who support both the awards and the wider Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival organisation.
