Brighton foodies brave the cold to enjoy the Churchill Square Live Food Kitchen


Wednesday 3rd April 2013 Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Spring Festival, Brighton, East Sussex, UKSpring Harvest finished with a bang at the Churchill Square Live Food Kitchen on Wednesday 3 April. The Kitchen is a regular fixture at both the Spring and Autumn Harvest events, and runs alongside the weekly Farmers Market every Wednesday on the piazza.

Local chefs from AguaDulce Spanish Restaurant and Sabai Thai Gastrobar were joined by regular stall holders and the team from Lakeland who ran a hands-on workshop making Cake Pops that were thoroughly enjoyed by young and old!

“Churchill Square is one of the oldest supporters of the food festival and we love bringing the Live Food Kitchen to the piazza twice a year”, said festival director Frank Jay.

“They’ve also helped us nurture the only weekly farmers market in the city over the past three years, providing space for Sussex growers and producers to sell fresh, locally grown and made food and drink”.

The weekly Churchill Square farmers market will be joined by the new monthly farmers market on Old Steine, launching on Saturday 20 April then running every 3rd Saturday of the month.

“Together the festival team and Churchill Square are making a real difference to the lives of residents by bringing accessible and affordable food into the heart of the city.”
