Vegetarian restaurant group, 1847, launch special ‘free from’ menu for National Vegetarian Week

The UK’s only group of vegetarian restaurants, 1847 has announced their special ‘Free From’ menu, which will be available across its four city-centre sites during Monday 16 – Sunday 22 May, to celebrate National Vegetarian Week.

The menu, specially created by the 1847 chefs, is inspired and developed around the rise of customers eating a ‘Free From’ diet, be it free from meat, dairy or gluten. Dishes include Wild Garlic Gnocchi with Wild Nettles Pesto and Dukka Spice, Carrot & Morrel Bake with Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Roasted Radish & Caramelized Shallot Sauce, and Earl Grey Tea Crème Caramel with Biscotti.

Damien Davenport, owner of the 1847 restaurants says “We have noticed a huge increase in our customers becoming more in tune with their own dietary requirements, with many needing to cut out gluten and dairy. We cater to this by designing our dishes to allow a vegan or gluten free option whilst still retaining the taste and quality. The menu for National Vegetarian Week allows our chefs and customers to explore a ‘free from’ menu, demonstrating that food can still be delicious and indulgent, without using dairy, gluten or meat.”

Named after the year the Vegetarian Society was formed, 1847 restaurants specialise in high quality, locally produced vegetarian, vegan & gluten free dining at their Bristol, Birmingham, Brighton and Manchester locations. . The wine list has been carefully curated to not only complement the dishes, but to comprise of vegan only bottles. Botanically-based cocktails concocted especially for 1847 with the help of expert mixologists are also on the menu.
