Saturday 14 December 2013, from 2pm-4pm (last sitting 3pm)
The Mayor’s Parlour, Brighton Town Hall, Bartholomew Square, Brighton BN1 1JA
The Mayors Parlour – part of the Mayoral Suite – is the official reception room for dignitaries to the City. Most of the furniture in the parlour came from the Royal Pavilion – as did the carpet. The two maces, mayoral chains and badges, and a ceremonial sword presented to Mayor, Councillor David Smith, on 10 July 2006 by the First Group of Deans from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are all on display along with many other gifts including silverware, glassware and pottery.
For your afternoon tea, you’ll enjoy a choice of cakes prepared by Brighton’s famous Terre a Terre restaurant, along with a choice of tea or coffee. And for an additional £5 per person you can celebrate with a glass of Ridgeview Sussex sparkling wine.
You’ll also have the opportunity to meet The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Denise Cobb.
These special Christmas afternoon tea events are the very first of their kind and are presented in conjunction with the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival in support of the Mayor’s Charities (Argus Appeal, Age UK, The Martlets Hospice, Off The Fence, and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity).
