The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is a year-round celebration of food and drink that champions Brighton & Hove’s hospitality businesses, and the wider food economy of Sussex.
The Festival’s objectives for 2018 and beyond are:
– Promoting the City of Brighton & Hove and surrounding Sussex as a quality gastronomic destination to a national and international audience
– Connecting the Sussex supply chain from growers to consumers
– Championing young talent in the hospitality industry, and promoting food and hospitality as a career
We will also be running our annual trade day to connect restaurateurs to local producers, and we are in the process of developing an event to showcase the hospitality and food industry as a viable career option for young people in the county. And, of course, the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Awards will run from April to the end of August as usual.
Behind the scenes, we will also continue our work in promoting and marketing the city and county to national and international media, including on-going activity with partners in Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Canada.
The festival organisation is fulfilling its long-term aims and objectives to promote Brighton & Hove and surrounding Sussex as a world-class food tourism destination, encouraging better ways of eating and engaging with food for citizens, creating a promotional platform for food and hospitality businesses, building a connected regional supply chain and facilitating international trade.
We are a not-for-profit community interest company and entirely rely on the on-going support of the local food and hospitality industries, our media partners, our patrons and our generous sponsors.
